Off the beaten Path

Normally, Saturdays are a day for me to catch up on projects I've neglected during the week.  So while sitting at my desk getting my thoughts together, the CLUTTER on top of my desk really got to me.  This is my sewing room and it does stay cluttered much of the time.  But there comes a time when enough is enough. Well that only lasted a little bit, when I became distracted by something else that was bothering me.

THIS

Cramming all those pens in a coffee cup is ridiculous! Since I had used some containers to clear off my desk, I went back to the kitchen to see if there was another container that could hold these pens comfortably.  I found a nice size container that once had sliced strawberries in it.  YAY!!!  So bringing it back to my somewhat clean desk, I went to my scrapbook papers and found a 12x12 sheet.  Hummmm I'm mathematically challenged as my family will tell you, so HOW can I make this square object fit this circle without a bunch of gathers..... The only way I knew was to lay the container on its side and slowly trace both top and bottom rolling it across the paper.

  IT WORKED!!!

Okay so how did it turn out?  You ask.... With tape I was able to keep it together, since paper sticks well with tape.  And...

VOILA

So what did I do with my empty valentine cup?   What do you think?

YEP.... I put the scissors that were scattered on my desk already, into my cup.  And of course being the crafter and sewist, these aren't my only scissors.  Oh and Hey.... Did you noticed that you can actually SEE my desk now?  I wonder how long that will last.

Hope this little blog has motivated you to not just be creative but make room for other things.  Have a great holiday weekend...
